At Hessler Floor Covering, we’ve seen the flooring industry transform since we first opened our doors in 1951. Perhaps no product has evolved more dramatically than laminate.
Once considered a "basic" alternative, today’s high-performance laminate flooring is a sophisticated, value-driven solution that mimics the world’s finest hardwoods with startling accuracy—all while standing up to the rigors of an active Florida lifestyle.
If you are looking for the prestige of natural wood without the specialized maintenance or high price tag, modern laminate deserves a second look.
Why Today’s Laminate is a "Sure Thing" for Homeowners
For retirees in Naples or growing families in Cape Coral, flooring must be practical. Our decades of experience have shown that laminate’s multi-layer construction offers a level of stability that is perfectly suited for the humid Southwest Florida climate.
The Wear Layer Advantage: Unlike natural wood, which can be soft and prone to indentation, laminate features a high-density fiberboard core topped with a transparent wear layer. This makes it exceptionally resistant to scratches from pet claws, the tracking of beach sand, and the daily "wear and tear" of high-traffic hallways.
Fade Resistance: In the Sunshine State, UV rays are a constant. Many natural materials will discolor or "amber" over time when exposed to large windows. High-quality laminate is engineered with UV inhibitors to preserve its original color, even in sun-drenched Florida rooms.
A Solid Investment: We focus on providing the best value, not just the lowest price. Laminate allows you to achieve a high-end designer look across multiple rooms—or even an entire home—while remaining comfortably within your renovation budget.
Aesthetic Mastery: Realism You Can Feel
One of the hallmarks of the Hessler collection is our commitment to quality visuals. Modern printing technology has advanced to the point where even seasoned professionals have to look twice to distinguish our premium laminates from genuine plank flooring.
Embossed-in-Register (EIR) Texture: This process aligns the physical texture of the plank with the printed wood grain. When you run your hand over the surface, you feel the knots and grain patterns exactly where you see them.
Coastal Palettes: From the light, airy oaks perfect for a Sanibel-inspired cottage to the rich, deep walnuts that anchor a formal Naples estate, our selection is curated to complement local architectural styles.
Engineered for Performance and Comfort
Beyond its surface beauty, the performance of a laminate floor is defined by what lies beneath. At Hessler Floor Covering, we emphasize a comprehensive approach to installation to ensure your floor feels as good as it looks.
Advanced Moisture Resistance
While early laminates were sensitive to spills, today’s top-tier products feature water-resistant cores and perimeter sealing. This makes them a viable and stylish option for kitchens and entryways where occasional moisture is inevitable.
The Importance of Underlayment
A "floating" laminate floor is only as stable as its underlayment. We utilize professional-grade underlayment systems that provide:
Sound Absorption: Reducing the "hollow" sound often associated with cheaper products.
Moisture Protection: Acting as a vital barrier between your subfloor and your new planks.
Added Cushion: Providing a subtle give that makes standing for long periods more comfortable.
Professional Installation: A Southwest Florida Tradition
A floor from Hessler is a legacy piece. Our team of experienced installers ensures that every "click-lock" transition is seamless and every perimeter expansion gap is precisely calculated for the Florida heat. We don't believe in shortcuts; we believe in doing it right the first time.
Since 1951, we have built our reputation on being a "one-stop shop" where selection meets true expertise. Whether you are updating a seasonal rental or your forever home, we invite you to experience the Hessler difference.
